Ini Dema-Okojie left her banking job to pursue acting

Dima-Okojie is from Esan North-East LGA, Edo State, Nigeria. Her father is a medical doctor and her mother is a retired banker and entrepreneur. She attended Air Force primary school in Lagos and moved to Air Force comprehensive secondary school, in Ibadan. She studied at Covenant University, Nigeria, where she earned a degree in International Relations. She later earned a degree in acting from the New York Film Academy.

In 2013 after spending nearly two years as an investment banker, Ini quits her job and chose to follow her passion for acting. That was when she went for a degree in New York Film Academy later that year. Shortly after finishing film school, Ini went back home to Nigeria. Her first job in the Nigerian Film industry was as a production assistant on the TV show called Before 30 (2014). Soon after, she was cast as a supporting lead in a telenovela series, ” Taste of Love”.

2016 was a notable year as she was cast in her first lead role as Hadiza in the feature film “North East”. As it should be, her big break came when she played Teni Badmus, in multichoice’s hit show Battle-ground(2017), which landed her The Future award Africa, The Nigerian entertainment Award, and Eloy Award nominations.
